Writing a News Report is often challenging, mainly at the beginning of your career. Thinking on that I have wrote how I felt when it started and would like to share with you.

The event was thought to end up at around 4:30, so I was able to participate only in the morning. Due to a delay to begin, the whole morning was compromised and when the break time came up giving me time to interview the speakers, they were attending other participants and also having their coffee. As I predicted that I maybe would not be able to interview them, I did record the speeches and could use it when wrote the news.

I felt that if I have read a bit more of the speakers and what the event was about, I would be more prepared. Even though it was an ‘easy’ topic to cover, I see an overview as a really important piece to complete the work. Also, it would give me more confidence in case I have had time to ask a few questions and probably would have given me more ‘courage’ to approach the speakers (in my opinion, without an interview the news misses the exclusivity). When it concerns to the challenges writing, headlines and pull quotes are still my big issue, I never feel satisfied with what I write so I tend to waste a lot of time trying to find something ‘good’ (I can be really critical with my own work). Another important point, I found myself lost when writing about an event that I did not know much and mostly that I could not see the end and more approaches of the theme. The first speaker gave a great outline of the topic, but it was not enough for me. Other than that, I am proud of my work and see that it improved if compared to the last one.
